Mrs. Teresa Hood is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who worked for many years with children, adolescents, adults, and families as a children’s minister, a position she still holds.
Teresa graduated from Touro University, earning a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families with various life demands including anxiety, depression, and divergent everyday challenges. Her areas of clinical emphasis include evidence-based treatments for anxiety, depression, grief, stress, trauma-related disorders, and anger issues.
Knowing how difficult it can be to take the first step in seeking help, Teresa wants to provide a safe place for individuals to share their thoughts, feelings, and struggles with the goal of helping individuals learn effective tools to cope with extreme stress, depression, anxiety, effective communication, and relational problem solving. Teresa is a Christian, so she is no stranger to the concept of “faith;” consequently, she willingly incorporates therapy and faith for clients who feel comfortable with that approach. Teresa is currently waiting for the Board of Behavioral Science to approve her hours in order to take the Clinical Exam for licensure. She is currently under the clinical supervision of Julianne Hicks, LMFT (103638).
