Mrs. Julianne Hicks is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who worked for many years doing lay counseling in a church setting before returning to school to complete a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Julie has experience working with adults with a variety of mental, emotional, relational and spiritual issues including anxiety, depression, family and relational issues, grief, and other life challenges. She also has experience working with adolescents through school-based counseling, which has equipped her to help her teenaged clients with a wide range of challenges unique to their stage of development. When working with couples and families, Julie is Certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which is a highly effective evidence-based therapy to repair relational distress.
She has a passion to provide a safe environment where her clients can share honestly and feel heard and accepted, regardless of the issues. As a Christian, Julie understands that faith plays an important part in many people’s lives, and she is very comfortable integrating faith into therapy for those clients who want that to be a focus. Julie uses a combination of evidenced based practices to aid her clients in their journey towards a healthier and more fulfilling life.
